What is RC Race Pal?
RC Race Pal (RRP) is a platform built by racers, for racers. Our goal is to streamline the RC racing experience by providing a central hub for event registration, membership management, and club coordination. Whether you're a driver looking for your next race or a club organizing events, RRP makes the process seamless and efficient.
With features like a national and international event calendar, easy online registration, membership management, and full integration with Sensible Laps, RRP brings RC racing into the digital age — making the sport more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
About me — Moatasem Taha
My name is Moatasem Taha, and I live in Perth, Western Australia. I've been passionate about RC racing since I was 12 years old — which means I've been in the sport for over three decades.
I started my journey building and flying all kinds of RC planes — from free-flight gliders to large-scale jets — and competed in IMAC for years. In 2008, I transitioned to RC racing, starting with a 1/8 Kyosho buggy at MORBC. Over time, I expanded into multiple classes, including touring cars, Formula 1, and 1/8 electric pan cars.
I've competed in national and international events like the Asian Buggy Championship and the GT Worlds in Sydney 2023, and through these experiences, I saw firsthand how challenging it was to manage race registrations, event scheduling, and club coordination.
Why I created RC Race Pal
In 2021, I set out to solve these challenges for my local Perth RC community by creating a centralized system where clubs could coordinate their racing calendars and drivers could register for events with ease.
Being an IT professional, I had the skills and passion to build this system from the ground up. I invested my own time, money, and countless hours to launch the first version of RC Race Pal.
What started as a small local solution quickly grew as more clubs adopted it. Today, every RC club in Western Australia uses RRP, and clubs from other states have joined as well. With the growing demand, I knew it was time to take RRP to the next level.
For Version 2, I teamed up with my friend Chris Murphy, an expert programmer who developed Sensible Laps — one of the best RC timing systems available. Together, we created a fully integrated system that enhances the racing experience for both drivers and clubs.
